Snapdragon X Elite Outperforms Flagship Intel and AMD!

When Qualcomm introduced the Snapdragon X Elite processor for laptops last year, they confirmed that devices utilizing the chip would begin hitting the market by mid-2024. As we approach the launch date, various listings of upcoming notebooks have started to emerge on benchmarking platforms, shedding light on the performance capabilities of this processor.

Recently, an unannounced Lenovo laptop equipped with the Snapdragon X Elite SoC made an appearance on Geekbench (via @techinamul) with the model number 4810UV0100.

The laptop achieved a score of 14,254 points in multi-core tests and 2,427 points in single-core tests, both of which surpass or at least match scores attained by equivalent Intel and AMD x86-64 CPUs.

For comparison, the Core i9-13900H typically scores around 2,400 points in single-core tests and 11,000 points in multi-core tests in Geekbench 6.2, while the AMD Ryzen 9 8945HS achieves approximately 2,632 in single-core tests and 13,155 in multi-core tests.

The new benchmark findings emerged just before Qualcomm officially asserted that the Snapdragon X Elite outpaces Intel’s latest Meteor Lake mobile processors, the Core Ultra 9 185H and Core Ultra 7 155H.

Although both Intel chips offer 16 cores (6 performance cores and 8 efficiency cores), the former boasts a maximum turbo speed of 5.1GHz, while the latter can reach up to 4.8GHz.

According to Qualcomm’s claims, the X Elite demonstrates a 51 percent performance improvement over the Core Ultra 9 185H in single-threaded workloads at the same power consumption level, and consumes 65 percent less battery power while delivering similar performance.

In multi-threaded applications, the X Elite is purportedly 41 percent faster than the Core Ultra 9 185H while using the same amount of power, and consumes 58 percent less power while maintaining similar performance levels.
