Apple Vision Pro, previously only available in the US market, is reportedly set to be sold globally as well. This information comes from the latest report by Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman. Quoting information from 9to5Mac, Tuesday (14/5/2024), Apple is said to be planning to release Vision Pro to more markets after the WWDC 2024 event scheduled for early next month.
Although the exact release date is yet to be confirmed, according to the report, Apple has already trained several of their retail staff outside the US on the demo and sales process of the headset.
Therefore, based on this report, there is a possibility that the global launch for Apple Vision Pro will be announced at WWDC 2024. Subsequently, the sales of the device will commence thereafter.
It is mentioned that the training has been conducted for staff from Germany, France, Australia, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, and China. However, it is not yet known whether the device will also be introduced to other markets, including Indonesia.
On the other hand, according to renowned analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, the sales figures for Vision Pro are said to be below Apple’s expectations.
Quoted from The Drum, the slow adoption in introducing new technology to the public is cited as one of the reasons why this headset has seen a lack of interest. However, this does not indicate that the device will be completely discontinued.
According to Kuo, the company plans to ship between 400,000 and 450,000 units of Vision Pro. This figure is said to be not the minimum of 700,000 units predicted by Apple, and the headset has also not been released outside the US yet.
Apple Vision Pro Lacks Enthusiasm
Since its launch, various reports about this device have been very diverse; many praise its capabilities while others complain about its size and weight being too large.
Many users also say that the price of Apple Vision Pro is too expensive. “There’s $3,500 worth of technology in Vision Pro, but it’s not worth $3,500 for the mass consumer, at least not yet,” said futurist and author Cathy Hackl.
